Heche arcs to 'Everwood'

Anne Heche (news) has headed to the mountains, joining the cast of the WB's "Everwood" for a multi-episode story arc.
Heche will appear in at least 10 segs as a potential love interest opposite series star Treat Williams. She'll play Amanda
Carver, whose husband wound up paralyzed and unable to speak several years ago. Williams' character, Dr. Brown, steps in to
teach Amanda's husband new ways to communicate -- and winds up developing a fast friendship with Amanda.
It's the first TV series gig for Heche since she appeared on "Ally McBeal" in the 2000-01 season. The thesp will next be seen
in the CBS telepic "The Dead Will Tell" later this season.
On the theatrical side, Heche appears in the upcoming features "Birth" and "Prozac Nation."
Heche's other credits include the telepic "If These Walls Could Talk" and "Gracie's Choice." She also helmed a seg of "If
These Walls Could Talk II" as well as the TV movie "Reaching Normal." Thesp is best known for her roles in films such as "Volcano"
and "Six Days, Seven Nights."
Entering its third season this fall, "Everwood" comes from Warner Bros. TV; Greg Berlanti, Mickey Liddell and Rina Mimoun
exec produce. Show stars Williams, Gregory Smith, Emily VanCamp, Scott Wolf, Tom Amandes, John Beasley, Vivien Cardone, Debra
Mooney, Stephanie Niznik and Chris Pratt.

"Do or Die" - Airing August 30th
Ephram (Gregory Smith) and Amy (Emily VanCamp) decide to go to prom together as friends, but Amy can't get up the nerve to
tell Ephram that she has feelings for him after they run into his ex-girlfriend Madison (Sarah Lancaster) and Amy realizes
that he's still nursing a broken heart. Meanwhile, Linda (Marcia Cross) decides it may be time to leave Everwood behind, and
Andy's (Treat Williams) mentor, Dr. Donald Douglas (guest star Philip Baker Hall), asks him to perform risky brain surgery
on a patient who turns out to be Dr. Douglas himself.
Debra Mooney, John Beasley, Vivien Cardone and Chris Pratt also star. Michael Schultz directed the episode written by Vanessa
Taylor.
